Didcot 20th Centuary
I have been a member of the Great Western Society since the mid 1960s. All there pictures have been taken in the societies Didcot Loco Shed. ~ A New Year's Day 2010 visit on a beautiful day and a quick September call in. ~ Tornado first visit ~ The 2nd May 2005 was the first day that the newly built replica Broad Guage (7ft 0.25 inches) locomotive carried passengers. The Broad Guage track was found in a quary at Burlescombe in Devon. The passenger platform in the Transfer Shed is named after this find. The transfer Shed was originally located at Didcot in what is now the car park. The original purpose was to allow the trans-shipment of goods from broad guage to standard guage wagons.
